Electricity - A Poem
Updated: Oct 28, 2021
The chillness of the autumn air fills my veins,
Sending electric shivers down my spine,
With a dance of life’s joy across my skin -
Freeing me at the hand of liberty.
Twinkling stars remind me of my place:
A brief wisp of light in the darkness,
A blur of sweet memories of my youth,
Soothing my mortal state with such beauty.
Fayre nights with friends surrounded by neon,
Drinking in fields with other rebels -
The rush of teenage revolt I hold close,
Making my temporary fate worthwhile.
Now, the electricity of your lips
Grace me once again with that same sweet buzz.
